This model seems to be offered with various uppers here. Mine look similar to the 'military' color shown, but they're actually a dark green, oiled canvas. I mention this because different uppers are going to offer different protections and a different feel. Mine were somewhat stiff when they were new, because the uppers are an oiled canvas, but they quickly became soft.

I like these shoes for 2 reasons. The first is that they look good. The second is that I love PRO-Keds. While everyone has their favorite canvas sneaker, I think PRO-Keds are just simply more comfortable then any of the other major brands and I've tried them all. They also just fit my feet better and they fit true to size. I've worn PRO-Keds for about 40 years, since I was a small child, and so they've always been my preferred canvas sneaker.

Having wide feet can make finding athletic shoes difficult. These fit great! I measure a 8.5 eee on a Brannock and got a size 9 because the price was better. They fit great!! I think an 8.5 would be slightly better but I’m not disappointed. I also really like the way they look.

Easy on and off. Great kicker slippers for keeping feet off the cold floors. I haven’t used them outside.

I've been wearing New Balance cross-trainers for years. They've always been great. These hiking shoes continue that experience.

I bought these hoping for some additional ankle support. Though concerned about the fit and not trying them on, I matched the size of my NB cross-trainers, and hoped for the best. No surprise, they fit just fine.

Looking at them you can tell these are not the typical/traditional heavy hiking boots. They're more of a slightly stiffer high-top sport shoe. Like a sport shoe, they are much lighter than a more traditional boot. They do provide good ankle support, and have a little bit more cushioning than a sport shoe in the sole and ankles. The soles, though Vibram, are also more like a sneaker sole, but seem to provide a very good grip.

All in all, I like 'em.

A great shoe. Very comfortable and got loads of compliments. This is mysecond pair. Asics sizes are very consistent.Too bad the replacement model, the GEL DS 22 is so drab looking.

These are super comfortable, no complaints so far. For me I always order a 1/2 size bigger when buying nike. Knowing this, they fit perfectly.

I initially bought these for a trip involving long walks over hilly, cobblestone streets. They held up very well (and thanks to these shoes, so did I). There was very little evidence of wear, and they are still in great condition. I will continue to wear them as good casual walking shoes. I indicated that the shoes fit "as expected," but I should add that I usually wore them with heavy socks. Had I been wearing thin socks, I would consider them "somewhat wide," but still a good, comfortable shoe.

These are my second pair of Skechers memory foam sneakers. I have some minor issues with my feet, so walking with hard soles can be painful. These shoes really help and they are so comfortable that I wear them nearly every day.

If you are a walker, I highly recommend them. They fit exactly as expected.
